By donating to The Walking Classroom, you're helping kids safely learn while physically distanced at school OR learning at home—without screens and without yet another printed worksheet.

The Walking Classroom supports physically distanced in-class learning as well as virtual instruction

We are so thankful to our donors. Your generosity enables us to get Walking Classroom materials to the kids who benefit from the program the most—primarily low-income schools where students are performing below grade-level and struggling to keep up.

These are the same kids who are struggling the most during this pandemic either due to no computers or Internet access at home for virtual instruction or limited physical activity during in-class lessons.

Used as designed, The Walking Classroom naturally enables students to learn while remaining physically distanced from each other, all while getting fresh air and exercise with a program proven to improve learning, retention, and joy!

To our donors, know that 100% of individual donations goes to distributing free class sets to schools on our waiting list.

How does The Walking Classroom work?

(and more importantly, how is it helping students continue to learn during this pandemic?)

Kids take a 20-minute walk as a class (or when at home), while listening to the same fun, educational podcast. Afterward, they take part in deep discussions and quizzes to solidify learning and check comprehension.

  • Kids who struggle with reading are suddenly able to participate in the discussion (and excel!)
  • Kids who have trouble sitting still have an opportunity to burn off energy (while still learning!)
  • Kids with different learning styles now can absorb the material in a new way (that's also fun!)
